Lecturer

Lecturers at Columbia University School of Professional Studies are officers of instruction with substantial professional experience and accomplishments who possess the doctorate or its professional equivalent.  As primary instructor for a course section, a Lecturer is responsible for teaching, providing subject matter expertise, and ensuring academic quality and academic integrity. 

Associate

An Associate is a faculty line that supports a Lecturer, facilitating classroom discussions, leading breakout sessions, and providing content-specific expertise. Associates are graduate degree holders with applied professional experience related to the course of instruction.

Staff Associate

Partnering with an Instructional Designer and the Curriculum & Instruction team, a Staff Associate brings a new course from concept to the classroom. Some Staff Associates move into a Lecturer role to teach a course they helped develop.
