You had us at 'hello, ya'll'

Locating in Fort Smith just makes good business sense for Glatfelter. The blend of Fort Smith's pioneer spirit, southern hospitality and new south growth focus fits our way of doing business. Our strategic location gives us the added benefit of being in close proximity to key suppliers & customers, and efficient transportation routes. And, just as important, it will allow us to tap into the area’s high-quality and skilled workforce.

We're currently hard at work constructing our new state-of-the-art production line within our beautiful, modern facility in Chaffee Crossing. We expect to begin operations in early 2018 and when we do we'll be the world's largest producer of airlaid material. Soon we'll have new signage, new hires, and lots of activity.  Glatfelter has made a substantial investment in Fort Smith, and it's just the start of our long-term relationship.

We intend to provide good jobs and support Arkansas’ overall economic development goals. We will also be a good steward of the local environment and a company that protects its employees in our safety mission to be Injury Free Every Day. Equally important, we plan to be a stable community partner, a company that is good for Fort Smith and good for Arkansas. We are very grateful for the amazing support we've received from the Fort Smith community.

Add Fort Smith to your Bucket List

True Grit, colorful spirit and natural beauty meet in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Literally we mean that True Grit was filmed in Fort Smith, which still maintains its old west glory, and just down the street you'll find vivid murals from some of the world's most renowned street artists. And you can experience The Natural State's Arkansas River by boat and Ozark Mountains by train. They've got one of the longest-running Blues festivals in the country and championship BBQ!  Fort Smith is also recognized for its military heritage, with an active presence by the Arkansas National Guard and the 188th Wing Arkansas Air National Guard. It will also be the home of the U.S. Marshals Museum scheduled to open in 2018.  Did we mention Fort Smith was recently recognized, by Forbes Magazine, as the number one city in the U.S. for cost of living?
