What started as a hackathon project at Square in 2013 to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has grown from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic financial ecosystem and a top finance app in the App Store seven years running. We build products that provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save for our 50+ million customers.

Spiral builds and funds free, open-source projects that advance the use of bitcoin as a tool for economic empowerment. The core team is focused on contributing to the Lightning Development Kit (LDK), a toolkit that makes it easier for bitcoin developers to build Lightning wallets and apps. In addition, Spiral’s wildly successful grant program provides  funding to dozens of bitcoin developers, designers, PMs, and educators worldwide.

TIDAL is a global music and entertainment streaming platform committed to creating a deeper connection between artists and fans through its library of more than 80 million songs, over 350,000 high quality videos, and available in over 60 countries. We build tools and services for artists that deliver utility, agency, access, and education to help artists forge valuable connections and navigate the business that surrounds their music. The Proto team at Block is accelerating the world’s transition to an open economy by building products that increase access and independence for all. Our Proto team is currently responsible for the development of products and services for Bitcoin Mining and Bitkey. Bitkey is a self-custody bitcoin wallet with three parts — a mobile app to make transactions easily on the phone, a hardware device to protect savings securely offline, and a set of recovery tools in case customers lose their phone, hardware, or both.

As an innovative multi-signature self-custody wallet, Bitkey provides innovative recovery tools that give customers multiple ways to recover their money, so they can take their bitcoin off exchanges and truly own and control it themselves, without the anxiety of guarding a long complex seed phrase.
