Field of Interest: Electrical or Electronics Engineering

Electronics and Electrical engineering are two key domains to build CERN’s highly complex scientific instruments such as the powerful particle accelerators or the huge detectors installed at each collision point.

Hundreds of Electronics and Electrical engineers are daily contributing to their conception, implementation, test, and maintenance in areas as varied as Microelectronics, Hardware, Firmware and Software, Optoelectronic and Photonic components, Systems, Low voltage power and High power electrical, State-of-the-art superconductive magnets design and Implementation of the radiofrequency cavities.

This specific Programme is dedicated to Experienced Projects Graduates W/M/NB, based on the following eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • You have:
    • a Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
    • or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
      (Note that you are expected to have obtained your qualification by the time you take up your appointment at CERN.)
  • You have never had a similar contract before at CERN;
  • Applicants without University degrees are not eligible.
