Graduate Development Programme

Contact Energy's graduate development programme (GDP), is an 18 month programme consisting of 3 x 6 month rotations into different teams/functions within the business that directly relate to your field of study. The aim of rotations is for you to build your network within Contact Energy, gain a broader experience of our business and how we operate, and lastly to unlock areas of interest that perhaps you didn't know existed!

We want you to know that everyone will join Contact Energy GDP on the same starting salary (currently $60,000.00 p/annum) and everyone will receive six monthly performance and remuneration reviews. However, individuals may progress at different rates based on our performance review matrix.

Summer Internship

We also offer students in their second and third years of study the opportunity to join the business during the summer break for a paid internship! Our summer internships run from late November through to mid February, don't worry we break for New Years so you can still attend those summer festies. How good I hear you say, $52,000p/annum pro rata'd good to be exact. Nice way to save some coin up before heading back to resume your studies. Sign up here to register interest now!

More importantly you'll get the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the smartest individuals and teams in their fields, contribute to decarbonising Aotearoa and get involved with some amazing projects.

The recruitment process for our internships is pretty chill! We'll get you to submit an application telling us a bit about yourself, what your studying and what you want to get out of an internship. If we think one of our teams can provide you a meaningful experience related to your studies we will get in touch and arrange a time for an interview (most likely video) from there it's all about just getting you through a few standard pre-employment checks.
