About Us

LGC’s Grant Management Group (GMG) manages health and care research schemes for a number of national and international funders.

Health and care research funders invest in areas of greatest public and patient need with significant potential for impact.

Joining GMG will put you at the core of a funder’s mission, enabling you to play your part, whether that’s within programme management, collaboration, partnerships, dissemination or another essential function for research management.

NIHR

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), funds, enables and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people's health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth.

LGC co-hosts one of NIHR’s coordinating centres. GMG staff share in the operational responsibility for the work of NIHR, managing funding programmes, research collaborations, infrastructure, schools and units, partnerships with the public, charities and industry, and evidence and impact.

SBRI Healthcare

SBRI Healthcare, an NHS England programme, promotes UK economic growth whilst addressing unmet health needs and enhancing the take up of known best practice.

Companies are invited to bid for funding to develop solutions for specific health needs. The programme also recently joined forces with the NHS Cancer Programme at NHS England, to support innovations that tackle the early diagnosis of cancer, and the Greener NHS team help the NHS achieve its Net Zero targets, whilst improving patient care.

The programme is supported by the Academic Health Science Network and managed by LGC through the Grant Management Group.
