Similar to a desert before a rainstorm, we believe that developing countries are full of potential waiting for the right conditions to unleash a superbloom (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superbloom) of creativity and positive impact. At Bloom, our work weaves together elements of entrepreneurship development, impact innovation and social entrepreneurship around local and global challenges and the SDGs. We believe in transformative educational experiences supporting personal growth and the pursuit of meaning, soft / universal skills (“entrepreneurial skills”) development, and in the process build rich collaborations and communities of practice across geographic boundaries.

Our hope is that through these efforts we can contribute to the development of positive, inclusive, and sustainable communities and economies, and to a superbloom, indeed superblooms, of opportunity around the world.

Our current and upcoming projects focus on supporting social enterprises, livelihoods / job creation, and helping build robust, inclusive, and sustainable economies across 9 MENA countries. About half our work is in Lebanon, and the other half spread across 8 other countries.

We work through two methods: (1) Direct support programs for organizations and enterprises, and (2) Indirect support programs through collaborative “communities of practice” and cooperative “train the trainer” programs, supporting groups that then provide direct support programs.

Through both methods, we will be working directly or indirectly with 200+ social enterprises and MSMEs over the coming year, as we work to further refine the methods, content, and tools to grow our impact.
