Across our labs in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, our team of around 600 scientists and technicians conducts testing for food release, forensics, surveillance testing for contaminants, and project work. Our state-of-the-art technologies and innovative methodologies place our testing laboratories amongst the best in the world.
We provide independent auditing, inspection, and certification expertise for an extensive range of horticulture and seed, food manufacturing, dairy manufacturing, and on-farm programmes.
Our plant and seed health teams offer inspection services for seeds, crops, and plants across New Zealand. We have a dedicated Seed Laboratory in Palmerston North and a Plant Health Laboratory in Lincoln.
Our people deliver meat inspection services to ensure that red meat products meet the highest global standards of quality, allowing NZ to realise the full potential of export trade. As the government’s recognised meat inspection agency, we have up to 800 Official Assessors warranted under the Animal Products Act carrying out meat inspections across approximately 75 meat processing plants throughout New Zealand.
The biosecurity team works to protect Aotearoa from the impact of pests and diseases in the food and primary industries sector. To protect livestock from disease, our field technicians manage sampling and testing for TB surveillance.
Our sustainability assurance team develops assurance programmes for sustainable food production, working with customers on-farm, in production facilities, and right across the value chain.
We have dedicated teams for AsureQuality’s Innovation and Data roadmaps working closely with our customers and partners to unlock the future of food assurance and enable our vision to be the integrated food assurance partner.
We offer a range of industry training solutions, NZQA accredited, and approved courses face-to-face or online, with a strong focus on workplace training and assessment. The courses our Academy team designs and delivers include: HACCP, Food Safety, Halal, and Meat Inspection.
