Application process

What documents do I need to apply?

A resume, cover letter, qualifications (academic transcript for tertiary students) and any other supporting documentation. 

I can’t find a suitable position on your website, can I still apply?

You are welcome to apply for an expression of interest that we advertise in our 'search jobs' section. Inhabit is experiencing sustained international growth and it is possible there will be an opportunity requiring your skills and experience in the near future. We will be in contact if a suitable position becomes available.

Can I apply for different positions at the same time?

Yes, you may apply for multiple positions at the same time. Please ensure your application addresses each position-specific criteria advertised.

How will I know if my application has been received?

After submitting an online application, a message will appear advising that your application has been submitted. You will then receive an email providing you with access to your own SmartRecruiters Candidate Portal. In this portal you are able to sign in at any time to check the status of your application.

If your application meets the desired skills, knowledge and experience of the position, we will be in contact with you to discuss the next stage of the recruitment process.

If I submit an application or register my details, will Inhabit keep me on file?

If you submit an application through this site, your details will be stored in our confidential database so that we can contact you if needed regarding positions at Inhabit. If you would prefer for us not to keep your information on file, please contact us.

How do I withdraw my application?

You can withdraw your application in your SmartRecruiters Candidate Portal. To withdraw your application, click ‘My Applications’ on the left column, select the application you would like to withdraw and then select ‘View Options’ on the bottom of the page and follow the instructions.

Recruitment process: the start of your journey with Inhabit

What are the steps in the recruiting process?

Stage 1: Submitting your online application

Search jobs to find an opportunity that suits your skills and experience. Click the ‘I'm interested’ button within the job advertisement to start your application. You will be required to upload your application documentation and complete mandatory screening questions for the role. This will provide us with the most accurate representation of your relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

If your application meets the requirements for the job, we will contact you to advise of the next steps in the recruitment process. If your application does not meet the requirements for the job, you will be notified that you will not be progressing to the next stage in the recruitment process.

Recruitment process: interviews and getting to know each other

Stage 2: One-way video and/or phone screening

Depending on the position you are applying for, we may invite candidates who have progressed to the next stage of the recruitment process to complete a one-way video or phone screening. This initial screening will assist to further determine your suitability for the position.

Stage 3: In-person or live-video interview with hiring manager(s)

If you progress to stage 3 of the recruitment process, you will be invited to an in-person or live-video interview with the hiring manager(s) and possibly one or two other colleagues. The interview allows us to discuss your experience, knowledge and skills and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the position or Inhabit.

Stage 4: Personality and technical/aptitude tests

Depending on the position you are applying for, the next stage may involve personality and/or technical/aptitude tests. These tests help us to further assess your knowledge, skills, behavioural profile and personality characteristics for the position.

Recruitment process: the final stage

Stage 5: Reference checks

You may be asked to provide contact details for recent managers or supervisors you have reported to, who can provide a reference for you. A member of the interview panel or Human Resources, may contact your referees to learn more about your employment history and background for the position.

Stage 6: Offer of employment

If you have been identified as the most suitable candidate for the position, you will be provided with an offer of employment.

Getting feedback

Can I get feedback if I'm not successful for the position I applied for?

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately not able to provide all applicants with personalised feedback. We can provide specific feedback for candidates who are shortlisted and have progressed to the in-person or live-video interview (stage 3) of our recruitment process.

I've applied for a role but haven't heard back. What should I do?

You can check the progress of your application at any time. Just log in to your Candidate Portal and click on 'My Applications'. The status of your application will be visible on this page.
