Didn't catch Mads at Copenhagen Fintech Week?
We can introduce you here! We chatted with Mads Stolberg-Larsen, an economist specializing in ecosystem business models centered around blockchain technology. Since 2018, he’s helped drive Tradeshift Frontiers’ main commercial blockchain initiative, integrating B2B information and financial flow through smart contracts.
Mads is based in Copenhagen and we talked with him about his work with cutting edge technologies like distributed ledger technology (DLT) and blockchain, and how Tradeshift helps him be a force for innovation.
What’s the most exciting part of your work at Tradeshift?
I get to meet all the wonderful people in the blockchain and DLT space that are seeking to build a decentralized, open and inclusive digital world. A lot of these people are interested in talking with us because we’re built around a network mentality of connecting companies to create economic opportunity. I get to explain how we not only work to digitize supply chain interactions, but we also aim to build out digital assets and programmable money in smart contracts using blockchain technology. To help explain our thinking, I’ve been able to write our Tradeshift One whitepaper, setting forth the direction for our blockchain work. And the exciting part is that now we get to go execute and make it real. It’s really thrilling when you work on a team that can come up with a crazy concept that might actually work.
Where does your work with Tradeshift take you?
I have the chance to go and be a digitization ambassador at events, for example at the Copenhagen Fintech week I get to explore the role that digitization plays in supply chain finance and how Tradeshift helps facilitate that. And I discuss how companies can continue to innovate with tools like DLT and blockchain by enabling digital assets and programmable money in smart contracts.
What advice would you have for someone thinking about joining Tradeshift?
Tradeshift really helps you learn how to prioritize opportunities, time and energy. Because those are the key to success when working with innovation. And when you want to innovate rapidly, everything is about people. So just like at any company, consider who are the people you will be working for and with. If you have a good feeling about those people, jump on board. That’s why I joined Tradeshift
